Volunteer/Intern with Aram Porul at Aalampannai
On-ground volunteering/internship experience rooted in community, ecology, and learning
This volunteering/internship opportunity is based at Aalampannai, a 20-acre organic experimental farm developed by Aram Porul Foundation. The space functions as a working landscape and a learning environment, where agriculture, ecology, livelihoods, and education come together through sustained engagement with people and land. As a volunteer/intern, you are joining ongoing work – not event-based volunteering/internship and not a short-term visit.
At Aalampannai, land is treated as both a livelihood and a living classroom. The farm is home to over a thousand trees, tree-based farming systems and community-led agricultural practices. It also hosts learning programmes and residential camps that offer immersive exposure to sustainability, science, and rural livelihoods.
The work here is steady, practical, and shaped by local realities.
Aram Porul’s work at Aalampannai is part of a larger, long-term engagement with rural and tribal communities, including in the Kalvarayan Hills. The organisation works across education, livelihoods, health, women’s empowerment, mental health through interconnected programmes rather than isolated interventions.
Volunteers/Interns support these processes by contributing time, effort, and responsibility – not by leading or observing from a distance. What your work may involve
