Aalampannai Sustainable Livelihood Centre
What it is:
A 20-acre farm, leased by Aram Porul Foundation, dedicated to establishing a model for sustainable tree-based farming, a botanical garden, and a dynamic learning center. This initiative directly addresses the critical need to counteract the loss of forest land due to agriculture.
Our Impact:
Aalam Pannai serves as a living laboratory and a sanctuary of biodiversity.
- Ecological Restoration :The farm is home to more than 1000 trees, where we actively experiment with methods for preserving biodiversity and fostering ecological balance.
- Sustainable Livelihoods: We explore and demonstrate sustainable livelihood models derived from tree-based farming, showcasing an alternative to traditional agriculture that is gentle on the environment.
- Experiential Learning Hub: It is the primary location for residential camps for children, particularly those involved in Project Kathadi, offering them immersive, hands-on experiences in nature, science, and sustainable living.
How You Can Help:
Support Aalam Pannai to help us grow this vital model of sustainable living and expand its reach as a learning center for future generations.
